Catherine Hannam, President & CEO
Catherine (Cathy) Hannam joined Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette (GICW) in 2002 as a District Manager and has been instrumental in advancing the organization’s mission through retail growth, operational expansion, and the development of innovative e-commerce programs. As President & CEO, Cathy continues to lead GICW’s efforts to create opportunities for individuals and strengthen community impact. She earned her Master of Business Administration in Marketing from Marylhurst University and completed Goodwill Industries International’s (GII) Executive Development Program.
John Hannam, Chief Operating Officer
John Hannam joined GICW in 2010 and has made significant contributions through his leadership in store expansion, multi-site operations, and organizational growth. Throughout his career with GICW, John has led teams across multiple areas of the organization and now oversees operations as Chief Operating Officer. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, and has completed GII’s Senior Leader Program and graduate-level Executive Development Program.
David Miller, Director of Vocational Services
David Miller joined GICW in 2018 as Director of Vocational Services, bringing nearly 25 years of leadership experience with four other Goodwill organizations. Throughout his career, David has advanced Goodwill’s mission through workforce development, vocational services, and community partnerships. He holds a Master of Science in Rehabilitation degree from the University of Arizona and has served as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor, providing valuable expertise in helping individuals achieve employment goals.
Helen Yu, Director of Human Resources & Loss Control, General Counsel
Helen Yu joined GICW in 2013 and has contributed extensive legal, human resources, and leadership expertise. Prior to joining the organization, Helen served as corporate counsel for an international technology company and practiced employment law in private practice. She earned her Master of Business Administration from the University of Oregon, completed GII’s Senior Leader Program, and holds senior professional certifications, including SPHR and SHRM-SCP. Helen is a member of the Oregon and Washington State Bar Associations.
Karen Stores, Director of Finance
Karen Stores joined Goodwill in 1996 as an Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist and has advanced through various finance leadership roles, including Accountant, Senior Accountant, and Assistant Director. As Director of Finance, Karen supports the organization’s financial strength and operational success. During her tenure with GICW, she earned her Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Marylhurst University and completed GII’s Senior Leader Program.
Sam Thompson, Director of Retail & Marketing Services
Sam Thompson joined GICW in 2021 as Executive E-Commerce Manager and has contributed to the continued growth of the organization’s retail and digital initiatives. In his role as Director of Retail & Marketing Services, Sam provides leadership across retail strategy, marketing, and mission-driven customer engagement. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Oregon, completed GII’s Senior Leader Program, and brings leadership experience from the e-commerce and broadcasting fields.
Todd Silbernagel, Director of Operations
Todd Silbernagel joined GICW in 2011 and has been an integral leader in advancing the organization’s operational excellence. As Director of Operations, Todd provides strategic oversight for real estate development and facilities management, transportation and logistics, information technology, and operations support teams. Prior to becoming Director of Operations, he served as Senior Executive Operations Manager. Todd holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University and completed GII’s Senior Leader Program.
Simmony Davidson, Assistant to the President & CEO
Simmony Davidson joined GICW in 2004 and has provided dedicated support across multiple areas of the organization. Her experience includes roles as Accounts Payable Specialist in the Finance Department, Assistant to the Director of Operations, and currently Assistant to the President & CEO. Through her years of service, Simmony has developed a deep understanding of GICW’s operations and mission.
